You will need
100ml double cream
100g dark chocolate
Optional flavourings, e.g. rum, irish cream, coffee
Optional toppings, e.g. icing sugar, cocoa powder, chopped nuts, melted chocolate
Method
- Heat the double cream to just below boiling.
- Add the dark chocolate and mix until smooth. At this point, you could add any flavourings of your choice.
- Transfer the mixture to a bowl and put in the fridge until firm.
- Once chilled, roll into balls using a teaspoon of mixture for each.
- Roll the truffles in the topping of your choice: icing sugar, cocoa powder, chopped nuts etc., or dip them in melted chocolate.
- Once cooled again, place them in a tin or gift box. They would make great presents – perhaps for a teacher or neighbour?
