You will need

3 large eggs

168g caster sugar

168g self-raising flour

168g soft butter

1tsp baking powder

250g icing sugar (sieved)

16 cupcake liners/muffin tin

16 marshmallows

coloured chocolate dots/beans

chocolate M&Ms

black edible pen

sugar laces

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180C (160C fan/gas mark 4).

  2. Cream the butter. Then add sugar and mix well. Add eggs one at a time, mix until combined. Sieve flour and baking powder and fold into mix.

  3. Fill cases to about 2/3rds full. Bake on middle shelf of oven for about 14 minutes, or until cakes are golden. Then cool on wire rack.

  4. Mix some water with the sieved icing sugar, a little at a time, until thick enough to spread on cakes. (Use any extra icing to stick on all the other bits later!)

  5. Once the icing is set on the cakes, draw eyes and a mouth on the marshmallows, and cut a small piece of M&M for the nose. Stick the marshmallow on top of the cake, and add 3 chocolate dots/beans for buttons.

  6. Put the cakes in the fridge until firm. Place lace around neck for scarf and draw on arms with black edible pen.
