In 2011, Carey Baptist Church in Reading planted a new congregation called Carey Westwood Farm. Since then, the congregation has grown and has now been established as a new church.
We aim to be a church centred on the good news about Jesus Christ; who serve our wider community and who see lives transformed by bringing people to Jesus.
Launch Service: Sunday 4 September 2016
The launch service was a wonderful time with 150 people attending, many of whom were first time visitors from the local community.
Dan, the first pastor of ChristChurch Tilehurst led the service and spoke on what God wants us to be and to do, focusing on the biblical picture of the church being like a flock of sheep who follow their shepherd. Jesus, the good Shepherd, gives us life (John 10:10-11) and our mission is to bring other people to Jesus too so that they may have new life. The service was followed by a lunch with over 100 people staying to eat with us.
Although a wonderful occasion, this is only the beginning and we are excited to see what God wants to do through us in our community and even our world.
