Ingredients (makes 16)

100g cornflakes (plus extra for decoration)

100g dark chocolate

25g unsalted butter

3 tbsp golden syrup


Fairy cake cases


  1. Prepare fairy cake cases on a plate or in a tin.
  2. Melt the chocolate, syrup and butter in a pan on a low heat, or in a large bowl over hot water.
  3. Once melted, gently stir in the cornflakes.
  4. Spoon out the mixture evenly into the fairy cake cases.
  5. Add a couple of extra cornflakes on top of each cake to look like wings. 
  6. Place two smarties for the eyes, and a sideways one in the middle for the beak. Add a dot of chocolate in the middle of the eyes using the back of a spoon.
  7. Chill in the fridge for an hour and enjoy!
