Other people thought that shepherds didn’t have much value. They were looked down on in society. But, they were the first people to hear that Jesus had been born! How amazing!
That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified. Luke 2:8-9, The Bible.
God chose to tell these poor shepherds about the arrival of the King because he thought they had worth! While everyone else around them didn’t think much of them, God saw and loved them and wanted to share this incredible news with them. He sees and loves us too, and sees great worth in us, and he wants us to hear this incredible news!
